Fire Damage Restoration
In a fire and smoke disaster restoration cleanup, depending on the damages dealt by a fire to a structure. The goal is to remove the odors that are derived from various materials oxidized by a fire the soot that settles, or penetrates through walls crevices, floors, and other non-structural materials. It is essential that the following steps are taken to reach the goal.
Under negative air, with appropriate PPE.
Removal or demolition of heavily affected materials by the fire starting from the source after the investigation is complete by a third party or fire marshal and follow through all the affected areas.
Dry, or wet cleaning is used with commercial grade degreaser to clean the affected surfaces, including appliances.
At times ozone generator an oxidizer is placed within the structure turned on and left to run as needed, or a hydroxyl generator that creates reactive molecules and dismantles the molecular structure of odors. If that is not enough, a coat of odor seal or encapsulant in form of paint is applied on structural materials to encapsulate smoke odors and prevent progressive recontamination.
